FAQs

  • Clinical nutrition focuses on the relationship between food, nutrients, and health. It uses evidence-based dietary strategies to prevent, manage, and support recovery from health conditions. As a clinical nutritionist, I look beyond symptoms to address the root cause, using nutrition, lifestyle changes, and where needed, supplementation to support your body’s natural healing processes.

  • I hold a Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Nutrition) and am a Certified Practicing Nutritionist (CNP). Being a CNP means I am a registered member of a professional association and meet ongoing requirements for education, training, and ethical practice.

CNPs are also included in the Australian Allied Health Practitioner Toolkit for GPs, meaning doctors can refer patients to a CNP when seeking to address the root cause of health concerns through nutrition, lifestyle, and integrative approaches.

  • I am based in Noarlunga, South Australia and offer consultations both in person and online via telehealth to clients across Australia.

  • Functional testing investigates how your body is working at a deeper level. It can assess gut health, nutrient levels, hormone balance, inflammation, and more. This helps uncover the underlying causes of symptoms and allows for a more targeted treatment plan.

  • No — functional testing is optional. It can provide valuable insights, but I also work with clients using health history, symptoms, and standard medical test results if you prefer not to pursue additional testing.

  • I see children from toddler age upwards. I tailor my approach to be age-appropriate and work closely with parents or carers to support their child’s health in a practical, achievable way.

  • While GPs focus on identifying and diagnosing disease using standard reference ranges, I also use functional reference ranges — narrower, optimal ranges based on research that aim to identify imbalances before they progress to disease. This approach allows me to see “early warning signs” and patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms, so we can take preventative and corrective steps sooner.

  • Yes. As a Clinical Nutritionist, I can order private blood tests through independent pathology providers. These are not covered by Medicare, so there will be an out-of-pocket cost.
